Customers can now pay RTA fees and fines using NFC payment method from their smartphones
Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has rolled out digital payment channel from their smartphones at RTA Customer Happiness Centres using Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. Ahmad Ali Al Kaabi, executive director of Finance, said: “RTA has introduced this payment channel to diversify payment methods, delight customers and increase their satisfaction with RTA’s services at customer service centres throughout Dubai.
“To make payments using the new method, customers need to first download the mPOS App from Google Play and enter their debit/credit card details. Customers can then pay fees or fines by tapping their smartphones on the payment devices deployed at RTA’s Customer Happiness Centres across Dubai. The system deducts the amount required from the card linked to the smartphone,” noted Al Kaabi.
“This initiative echoes Dubai’s drive of becoming the smartest city in the world according to the government plan. We, at RTA, are keen to take a proactive approach in transforming government initiatives and plans into smart services for our customers and boost their satisfaction,” added Al Kaabi.
He reiterated RTA’s commitment to adopt the latest technologies in various fields to provide the best services to the public.
