Sultan sets up Sharjah Academy of Arts

Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Wednesday issued Emiri Decree No. 59 of 2017 to establish Sharjah Academy of the Arts.

The decree stipulates that the academy will be based in the emirate of Sharjah, and that it can open branches and offices in the emirate and abroad. The academy will be an independent, non-profit, scientific art body with financial and administrative independence. It will enjoy a legal personality and full capacity to carry out the necessary legal acts to achieve its objectives.

The decree comes into effect from the date of its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
