Abu Dhabi: There is no provision in the law of the General Pension and Social Security Authority preventing Emirati employees who continued to work after the age of 60 and did not complete 15 years in service from applying for disability benefits in case they have medical issues and cannot continue in service, the General Pension and Social Security Authority said in a circular.

“The pension law is always flexible and compatible with all developments, so it is allowed for those who can’t continue in service due to disability to apply for disability benefits even if they did not complete 15 years,” the authority added.
