Officials praise leadership of the Prime Minister

Dubai: Senior officials yesterday praised the initiatives of the Ruler of Dubai and said the traits they most admire about him is the way he guides people to do what they believe is impossible.

They were speaking on the first anniversary of the accession of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum as Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Mohammad Bin Hussain Al Sha'ali, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, told Gulf News, "Shaikh Mohammad is known for his love of work and his ability in leading people. These are the characteristics of a successful leader," he said.

"What is happening in Dubai is evidence of his active participation. Since becoming minister, I have got to know him closely. He is easy to deal with. But he is difficult when he puts forward goals for you. They usually need your best effort," he said.

Dr Mohammad Khalfan Bin Kharbash, Minister of State for Financial and Industrial Affairs, told Gulf News, "This is a historical memory. Shaikh Mohammad is a visionary leader at all levels, including leadership and establishment management. He is also a wise leader who knows how to provoke feelings of pride, belonging, sacrifice and motivation to achieve public and personal ambitions."

He added that it is a matter of great pride to me to work under the leadership of Shaikh Mohammad. He undertakes hard work and has great vision and hope for the whole region, Arab and Islamic nations and not just our country.

"Shaikh Mohammad's excellence and quality awards are part of his comprehensive vision to develop the individual and establishments' performances. Shaikh Mohammad admires teamwork. At the level of federal governments we are all working under his leadership as one team," Dr Kharbash said.

Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Chief of Dubai Police said Shaikh Mohammad was and still is a ruler who participates with everyone, although the fact that the vision he has is seldom present in others.

He added one of the unique characteristics of Shaikh Mohammad is that he supports the exchange of ideas. "One can criticise the way he wants or expresses an opinion without feeling that he is going against a leader's opinion. On many occasions, Shaikh Mohammad admitted that some of the opinions expressed by some officials were right and took them."

"Shaikh Mohammad also activated the role of federal establishments in society."

Mohammad Yousuf, Deputy Director of Dubai Courts said the UAE has a leader who has a large experience, vision and wisdom.

He said Shaikh Mohammad proved that he is an experienced and brave leader as well as a visionary and decision-maker.

"Under the leadership of Shaikh Mohammad we are heading to achieve our best. He is a unique Arab leader with a unique vision," he said.

Mirza Al Sayegh, Chairman of the Al Maktoum institute board said that Shaikh Mohammad had shifted work from the individual to the establishments and he is a leader who works in the field and personally follows up all national issues.

"Shaikh Mohammad encouraged young Emiratis to work hard and to build themselves. He also made our country a landmark in the world."

Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and executive director of the Road and Transport Authority said Shaikh Mohammad is working on the development of the country in all fields. "Shaikh Mohammad worked hard in raising the level of education, human resources and supported women by giving them leadership in many fields," he said.

He said that Shaikh Mohammad is working on the development of the contracting sector which is expected to reach Dh250 billion by 2010.
