UAE provides Dh18.4m to combat disease in West Africa
Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Development and International Cooperation has signed an agreement with the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) through which the UAE will provide Dh18.4 million to combat Ebola in West Africa.
The agreement aims to enhance Unicef’s response to Ebola, as well as providing health care for 150,000 people in affected areas. A total of Dh11 million will be used to combat the disease in Guinea, while Dh7.34 million will be divided equally for Sierra Leone and Liberia. Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Cooperation, was present during the signing of the agreement.
