Abu Dhabi: FNC candidate Mansour Al Fahim hopes the Federal National Council (FNC) will continue to set milestones and create plans to improve people's livelihoods.

Al Fahim, 32, a senior development manager at Mubadala, faces 116 other FNC candidates in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

He intends to develop a detailed vision to provide solutions for major issues in the country.

Al Fahim called for better performance by FNC members and finding ongoing ways for the local community to be heard by decision-makers.

‘Direct contact'

"Improving the performance of the FNC members will yield to creating a positive environment and reinforcing the mutual trust among members of the legislature and the public, enabling direct contact and interaction among various decision-makers and engaging different segments of society in determining the input and output of the decision-making process," he said.

Al Fahim called for developing mechanisms, under the supervision of the FNC, to find proper solutions for issues that concern the community of Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

He said there legislation members and other authorities should be given responsibilities and tasks based on their specialisations, and there should be constructive accountability.

"We should work on creating plans to improve the primary, intermediate, and secondary education systems, developing clear learning methodologies, and training students on making the best use of their time and using the advanced means of electronic education and research, establishing the basic principles of individual uniqueness, and taking them on training tours in different fields," he said.

Improving plans

He said school pupils should be helped to choose academic majors that would benefit the country.

For higher education, Al Fahim called on improving current plans and adding modern systems in electronic research and development, remote learning, and mastering the English language, motivating the youth for choosing the fields that serve the country and working on classifying them into categories in all required fields and majors.

FNC elections will be held on September 24.
