Events to draw community to Abu Dhabi parks

Abu Dhabi: In the context of its community-oriented environmental, recreational and sports initiatives, the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has kicked off ‘Basma Convoy’ and ‘Enhance your Performance’ events at Al Shamkha Park, following a successful tour of Al Khatam, Al Wathba, Al Shahama, Al Bahya and Al Rahba Parks.

The programme aims to enhance the role of parks situated outside Abu Dhabi Island to help foster a community spirit and a competitive spirit among the youth. The programmes also aim to foster the culture of utilising parks for running community events and turning them into favoured community areas.

These events are being held as part of a social, sports and educational initiative run by the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City that will continue until December 2012 across all parks outside Abu Dhabi Island.
