Survey shows increased environmental awareness

A total of 68% of those surveyed reported pro-environment practices

Abu Dhabi: The Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi (EAD) has revealed the latest findings of its Environmental Awareness and Behaviour Survey, which found that the public’s awareness and behaviour with regard to environmental issues has increased.

According to the survey, 68 per cent of those surveyed reported pro-environment practices, compared to 55 per cent in 2012. Within the construction industry, the overall level of awareness on environmental issues went up drastically from 24 per cent in 2012 to 81 per cent in 2013.

Nearly 2,000 people, representing a diverse range of nationalities, ages and industries in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, took part in the annual survey, which was conducted in late 2013.
