New beach on Abu Dhabi Corniche to be opened on Wednesday

opensAbu Dhabi: A new two-kilometre beach stretch along the Abu Dhabi Corniche will open to the public on Wednesday.

The new beach will have swimming areas, refreshment outlets, scenic gardens, walking pathways, beach volleyball pitches, children's play areas and toilets.

Last-minute touch-ups are in full swing at various facilities at the new tourism destination, which lies on an area of 11 hectares.

At least 170 umbrellas will line the stretch to provide shade to beach goers. Four volleyball pitches will also be available for visitors throughout the day.

People will be able to use the swim area during daytime, and trained lifeguards will monitor the swimmers from seven surveillance towers.

Floating fences will ensure swimming security over 40-metres into the sea. A police post has also been built on the beach front for more security.

The landscaping and greenery are also expected to make the beach one among the most beautiful destinations in the country.

A central building, complete with a mosque, refreshment areas and changing rooms, will give facility for picnic events, get-togethers and family assemblies.

Along the landscaped area, benches have been laid out giving the people one of the most refreshing sights of the sea.

Sure, we will visit new Abu Dhabi beach. We badly need more clean and secured public beaches for family, with the washroom facility to take bath / change the dresses.

I will definitely visit this beach even before it was renovated and improved, we already loved to come and visit this place of corniche! We love beach sooo much thats why we missed it when its undergoing renovations specially this summer! Thank you to all involved in these improvements!

I love UAE and wish to be a citizen if I had just the opportunity (am from Philippines). Whenever I'm wandering at the corniche beach am thinking about if I had an opportunity to talk to the infrastructure planners of UAE which I admire of their work, I will humbly suggest of putting a landmark in Abu Dhabi representing an "art" of unity among all (like the statue of liberty in NY)

I am sure this will be a beautiful beach but must have a dress code, no body do be permitted in with no swimming suite on.

Greetings!!This new open beach in Abu Dhabi, is a very good idea from the government. It will be one of the most tourist destinations here in Abu Dhabi.This is the good thing here in this country, they have always the concern for all the residence

The beach landscaping is very good, extremely well done. The facilities available are also top notch. However, the biggest mistake which is irreversible is the location of the beach, as the water there is still, It is more of a lake, its dead water. Bad idea in my opinion, every weekend I drive up to Dubai to go to the beach. The only reason I think people will go to this beach is the lack of alternatives

I think this beach will rather create problems for the commuters and worsen the already crowded streets. there is not any arrangements for car parking for the beach vistors.
