Capacity installed to generate 45 megawatt-hours a year
Abu Dhabi: The Italian Embassy in the UAE has become the first embassy in the capital to generate its own energy following the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) installations on its rooftop and car park.
A statement sent by the Regulation and Supervision Bureau (RSB), which regulates water and electricity production, transmission and distribution in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, on Saturday said that the embassy will be able to generate about 45 megawatt-hours of electricity a year.
The RSB statement added that so far 30 projects have been implemented to generate electricity through rooftop-mounted PV systems with a total capacity of 3.84 kilowatts.
