Ban on poultry imports from Italy still in effect

Dubai: The Ministry of Environment and Water said that the ban on live poultry, bird imports and bird products from Italy is still in effect until further notice.

Regarding the resolution issued earlier, the ministry said that the ban excludes heat-treated poultry meat, and that it will continue to monitor the situation in Italy. The ministry banned imports following a report issued by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), which reported a bird flu outbreak in the country.
