Abu Dhabi: A Dh44 million project will help upgrade the capital’s rainwater drainage network, the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City announced in a statement sent today (October 7).

Work is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2016 and the project is currently being tendered, the statement added.

The new drainage network will help cope with the capital’s growing population. It will not only cover newly developed areas but also undertake an upgrade for the existing system. Additionally, rainwater will be collected without allowing flooding of streets.
