Emirati girl, 10, strangled to death accidentally by her shaila

Dibba Fujairah: A 10-year-old Emirati girl was strangled to death in a freak accident after her shaila got entangled in the wheel of a quad bike in front of her house in Al Tawuain area on Fujairah.

The incident took place on Saturday at around 3pm.

The Emirati girl identified as A.A.S.A.Y. was riding a quad bike and one end of her shaila came under the wheels of the speeding bike and the other side got tightened around her neck.

Her brothers informed their parents about the incident and the father rushed her to Khalifa Hospital where she died after shortly after admission.

An official at Khalifa Hospital told Gulf News that the girl died despite efforts made to save her.

An official at Fujairah Police told Gulf News no case was registered as it was an accident.
