Dubai: Abu Dhabi Police released a video on Friday showcasing three traffic accidents caused by distracted driving, underscoring the serious consequences of inattention.

The footage shows three separate accidents resulting from motorists failing to pay attention to the road.

In the first, a car crashes into a slowed 4-wheel drive, flipping it over in a multi-car collision.

The police urged motorists to follow traffic safety regulations to prevent unexpected stops caused by distractions, particularly on busy roads.

Abu Dhabi Police's Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate stressed the importance of adhering to traffic safety regulations to prevent accidents, especially during heavy traffic on both internal and external roads.

The police have previously highlighted the dangers of using mobile phones, engaging with social media, making calls, and taking photos while driving. They regularly share accident footage to raise awareness about reckless driving.

In the event of an incident, drivers are advised to move their vehicles to the nearest exit if possible. If the vehicle is immobile, drivers should contact the Command and Control Centre at 999.
