Prophet museum 'an invitation to know about true Islam'

Dubai: The Prophet Mohammad Museum may be a foundation stone for a school or a college that teaches the history, biography and characteristics of the Prophet (PBUH).

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has reminded Muslims about Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and the museum has opened the door for people to participating in it, said renowned lslamic scholar Shaikh Dr Ahmad Al Kubaisi.

"This is a well-timed and gratuitous gesture from Shaikh Mohammad who has surprised us ... it has come to heal us [Islam and Muslims] from the sufferings we have sustained due to blasphemous campaigns against Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) in the West.

"Everyone of us is invited to play a role in this initiative for it to become an international museum," said Shaikh Al Kubaisi in reaction to Shaikh Mohammad's decision to set up the museum in Dubai.

Dr Hamad Al Shaikh Ahmad Al Chibani, General Director, Dubai Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, said the museum will present a distinct opportunity to enlighten and introduce others to true Islam through Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH) life and history.

"The international status of the UAE in general, and Dubai in particular, and the museum will help reach out to others to highlight the life and the noble message of the Prophet (PBUH) plus the true image of Islam," said Dr Al Chibani.

Muslim scholar Shaikh Ahmad Zu Al Noorayn, and member of Iftaa committee, said it's a God-blessed step and the intention behind it is "to spread the moderate and true message of Islam through informing others about the Prophet (PBUH)".

"Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was an ideal model of piety, moderate behaviour and high moralities... and this museum will be a good word for others to learn about true Islam," added Al Noorayn.

Shaikh Mohammad entrusted the Dubai Authority for Culture and Arts, chaired by Shaikh Mayed Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to supervise the implementation of the project.

The decision aims to set up a global destination that reflects the status of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and his great character that carried the message of Islam and became a model for over 1.3 billion Muslims.
