Meet the new Notes

First off, if you are wondering what happened to Notes, don't wonder much. Notes is still the weekly educational journal that covers higher education and is student-oriented. As a gesture from us to start the new academic year afresh, we have changed some of the design elements just to make it more appealing to you.

As September is around the corner students and parents much like bees are busy running around buying stationery, filling in applications and shopping for the new academic year.
This year coincides with Ramadan, which means double the work for teachers, professors, parents and students.

All the shopping malls, restaurants, outlets, supermarkets etc. are marking the beginning of Ramadan and are welcoming it by announcing the ‘back to school' promotions and/or Ramadan promotions. So everywhere you go you are reminded of the fact that soon life is going back to normal and the real work is waiting for you.

In order to help you cope with your studies and stress and to help you give a good impression on your first day at university while fasting, Notes prepared a back-to-school package which includes tips, guidelines and advice from experts in the field. And because we know how much students suffer from the registration period and its procedures, we have spoken to experts and academics to inform and guide you on how to best sign up for the right courses and on time.

The Notes team would really appreciate your feedback on all the issues and your suggestions; so please do not hesitate to contact us and send us your letters, thoughts and opinions or alert us if there are any events that are taking place on your campus or those that you would like us to cover.
Enjoy reading the first issue of Notes and do not forget to contact us at education@gulfnews.com.
