Abu Dhabi: In efforts to raise vocational education and create a culture of creative performance in the UAE, an Abu Dhabi based university won an award for building dynamic learning communities at the Ellucian live event held recently in Dubai.
Ellucian live Middle East is the premier higher education conference in the region, bringing together leaders, ministers, policy-makers and practitioners for discussion, knowledge, exchange and debate.
Due to the communities’ achievement in implementing the full suite of Banner module, Khalifa University was awarded “Building Dynamic Learning Communities through Enhanced Institutional Insight and Performance Management.”
Banner refers to banner relationship management software, which provides a core constituent relationship management (CRM) capability for educational institutions that allow them to strengthen and enrich connections with their prospects, students, and alumni.
“This award demonstrates that Khalifa University is a leader in the Middle East and North Africa region [Mena] in regard to our full and vigorous use of banner, and for our leadership in regional customisation,” said Dr Tod Laursen, president of Khalifa University.
“Khalifa University is always seeking ways to improve our student’s educational experience, and using data and information systems is just one of the ways we can promote student success,” he added.
The Ellucian, which connects more than 500 higher education professionals from across the region, also noted the university’s success in establishing a significant number of efficiency focused operational reports in finance and human resources.
“Every year we congratulate an elite group of achievers from Mena region to support their initiatives and help them deliver their objectives of creating higher educational standards to the benefit of the region,” said Mathew Boice, vice president of Ellucian.
