Dubai: A freshers' programme aimed at new students will be launched at a major festival scheduled for September.
The UAE Students Freshers' Programme will kick off at Fusion 06, a fashion, music and style festival.
At the festival, which runs from September 21 to 23, students will be able to showcase small business projects as well as art and design work.
Students will get the chance to pick up information about extra curricular activities including student clubs and there will also be "valuable information" that will help with their studies.
Adam Taylor, event manager of Fusion, to be held at the Airport Expo Dubai, said: "Fusion 06 targets the 18 to 30 age group that looks for something novel they can use to channel their talents.
"At this event, we have combined novelty and creativity to feed young minds with never-before expressed ideas. "We will provide them with opportunities to learn, we'll equip them with real-life experiences to prepare them for the work force and we'll give them the chance to keep themselves occupied in a fun environment." The Student Freshers' Programme is being organised in association with partner Mash-Up Media.
According to organisers, several academic institutions have shown "a keen interest" in the event and some, including JD Fashion Institute, are already involved with Fusion 06.
"Fusion 06 will provide an opportunity to interact with professionals from different backgrounds who will help youngsters look at career options from various angles, providing a greater span of solutions in an interactive and informal setting," added Taylor.
Fusion 06 will feature 175 brands, the Ford Fashion Show Arena, the Motorola Chill Out Lounge and free daily music and entertainment acts.
