Dubai Police rescued family trapped in creek

Dubai: Dubai Police rescued four members of a family who were trapped in a boat in shallow waters of the creek under Business Bay bridge, an officer said on Sunday.

Lieutenant Colonel Ali Abdullah Al Naqbi, director of the Sea Rescue Department at Dubai Police, said that they were alerted about a boat stuck under the bridge in front of Festival City area at 8pm on Friday.

Dubai police rescue teams rushed to the scene and rescued the family members and transferred one of them, who was injured, to a hospital. “We reached at the scene of the accident within few minutes. The boat was also slightly damaged.

Lt Col Al Naqbi urged boat users to be careful while moving in the creek and not to go close to the bank of the creek.
