Abu Dhabi: A human trafficking case prosecuted in the UAE involving 20 Filipinas proved the country's commitment to take strict action against human trafficking, Philippine embassy officials said.

"The Filipinas who were victims of human trafficking received all possible help from Ewa'a Shelter for Women and Children, a government shelter", said the ambassador.

"They received counselling, medical, legal and financial help also from the shelter," she revealed.

The embassy was co-ordinating with the UAE authorities and Philippine Government to repatriate the victims, Adelio Cruz, the minister at the embassy said.
