Residents unaffected by murder of Lebanese singer in Dubai
Dubai: The luxurious neighbourhood where the Lebanese singer Suzan Tamim lived, appeared calm and unaffected by the murder of the singer.
Suzan Tamim, 31, was found dead at her apartment on Monday night. Police said she was murdered, but did not release any more details.
The singer lived in a lavish apartment which overlooks the Arabian Gulf at Burj Al Rimal tower, which consists of 45 floors. The buildings in the Dubai Marina area are highly secure and fitted with advanced CCTV cameras at each and every entrance of the towers.
An Egyptian resident at the opposite tower, told Gulf News that it is impossible for strangers to enter any of the towers unless they are residents or related to the residents due to the strict security.

"We only came to know that a crime had happened here when we saw police and CID in the area. On Monday at around 8pm, a large number of police patrols and officials were at the scene and they had cordoned off the whole surrounding area," he said.
He said police also asked shopkeepers in the same building and surrounding buildings to close the shops and leave.
"We were not able to see anything because they prevented anyone from even coming close to the area," he said. They learnt about the murder the next day when they read the newspapers.
"I have been living here for the past year. It is a very safe and secure place. It is impossible for anyone to enter any building before being questioned by security. I believe the singer's killer either went up with her or she asked security to let him in," the resident said. He said as residents living in that area, they did not feel insecure because the crime seemed a personal matter. "I would have been scared if someone had broken in and committed a crime. I have seen worse crimes in my hometown. Anyway I never heard that a Lebanese singer was living in the neighbourhood," he said.
'Resisted killer'
Lebanese singer Suzan Tamim, whose body was found on Monday night, could have resisted her killer which led the suspect to stab her several times before slitting her throat, police officials said.
A police official who declined to be named told Gulf News yesterday the singer was stabbed in different parts of her body before her throat was slit. "It seems that she resisted the killer, which prompted the suspect to stab her several times," the official said. Police questioned a number of people close to Suzan yesterday and said they were still investigating, but declined to divulge any details.
