Receptionist accused of stealing $17,650 from work safe

Dubai An Indian receptionist denied stealing $17,650 (Dh64,829) from a private company based in Dubai airport when he appeared before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Wednesday.

Prosecutors accused the suspect, S.J., of abusing his position and stealing cash from his company’s safe.

The company’s manager claimed that S.J. stole the money after the accountant placed it inside the safe.

S.J. will present his defence on July 1.
