Man arrested in 11-year-old boy's murder

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police have arrested a Pakistani man in connection with the murder of an 11-year-old boy whose body was found on the rooftop of his residential building on Wednesday.

Major General Maktoum Al Sharifi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Police, said in a statement that the suspect confessed to the police that he sexually abused the victim and strangled him to death.

He said the efficient efforts on the part of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) led to the immediate arrest of the suspect.

As Gulf News exclusively reported on Friday, the body went missing on Tuesday late afternoon and his body was found under mysterious circumstances the next morning.
