Fujairah: Police have arrested a man who set fire to two speed radars in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah on Wednesday.

The Emirati targeted two devices on Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed  Road which connected Fujairah and Dubai, Major Dr Saeed Al Hassani, Director of Fujairah media and public relations department of Fujairah Police, told Gulf News

A pedestrian saw the suspect destroy the radar, took note of the vehicle's plate number and reported the matter to police, Major Al Hassani said. The Fujairah police operation room received a call about the incident at 11:30am.

The suspect was apprehended in less than an hour of committing the crime.

Police are investigating why he destroyed the radars and the case has been referred to the public prosecution.
