Female drug smugglers arrested

Dubai: An African and an Asian woman were arrested for attempting to smuggle in more than two kilograms of cocaine, Dubai Customs said on Wednesday.

When one of the woman went through the body scan, it showed something in her stomach. Asked how many capsules she was carrying, the woman admitted swallowing 50 capsules.

The suspect was transferred to the general department of Criminal Investigation. Later, it was confirmed that she was carrying 103 capsules containing 2,123 grams of cocaine.

In another incident, Dubai Customs suspected a passengers arriving at Terminal 2 coming from an Asian country.

When he went through a body scan, it was found there were some objects in his stomach as well. It was found he was carrying 36 capsules containing 411 grams of heroin.
