The temperature may be rising, but in most cases room rates will soon be dropping drastically at Dubai's deluxe hotels. A survey of 14 exclusive hotels by Gulf News has revealed that rates drop from high to low season between 14 and 64 per cent.

According to asiatravel.com, where the room rates were quoted, the average drop in rates of the 14 hotels was about 36 per cent.

Le Meridien Mina Seyahi leads the field in offering red-hot summer deals with an average 64 per cent rate cut. Jumeirah International's Emirates Towers was second with its summer rates half price of high season.

Close behind with competitive red hot deals are the Jumeirah Beach Club Dubai, with 49 per cent, and Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort and Towers, 46 per cent.

On the other end of the scale, the Hotel Inter-Continental has about a 14 per cent reduction, Burj Al Arab, 17 per cent, World Trade Centre Hotel, 18 per cent and the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, just over 20 per cent.

At the J.W. Marriott Hotel Dubai, the average decrease is about 35 per cent. Next year, from June to the end of August an executive suite costs around half of its general price. The best deal on offer at the Ritz Carlton Dubai is a deluxe room. With a 52 per cent price reduction, guests can get for $200 what at other times of the year costs $425. On average, the Ritz Carlton Dubai's rate drops by just over 40 per cent.

Double executive suites are almost half price at Hilton Dubai Jumeirah. The hotel's average reduction is 44 per cent but guests wanting a suite in low-season need only pay about $210 instead of $410.

Above the average price cut, Le Meridien Dubai has an average decrease of almost 45 per cent. Hyatt Regency Dubai has a 35 per cent decrease on its double guest room.

At the Sheraton Dubai Hotel and Towers the drop is less than the average, but it offers a competitive rate on its single classic rooms with almost a 40 per cent price cut.
