Construction worker killed in accident

Sharjah: A 25-year-old worker succumbed to work-related injuries yesterday after a wooden log fell on his head while he was working at a construction site in Al Gafiah area.

Sharjah police official explained that the Pakistani worker died within 20 minutes after reaching the hospital. The victim, identified as Juwad Ahmad, was employed with a contracting company based in Sharjah.

The police were called by the supervisor of the construction site and the victim was rushed to Al Kuwaiti Hospital.

Police launched an investigation into the case to determine the cause of death.
