Cement and steel duty waiver to cover whole nation

Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday issued a decision exempting cement and steel from customs duties across the UAE.

The decision is in line with the leadership's keenness to maintain the stability of the real estate market and construction boom, as well as to reduce the burdens of contractors, landlords and consumers as well.

Under the decision, all the relevant authorities must abide by the decision and implement it immediately without any delay.

Shaikh Mohammad had earlier issued a similar decision waiving cement and steel from customs fees in Dubai only.
