Ceiling collapse kills Emirati in Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah: A 26-year-old Emirati man was killed after the ceiling of his friend's house collapsed on him, a Ras Al Khaimah police official told Gulf News.

Police said that Abdullah Mohammad Al Shemili was visiting his Arab friend's house in the Al Rams area when the ceiling collapsed.

An official at Ras Al Khaimah Civil defence said that the operation room received a call at 12pm reporting the incident.

A rescue team extracted the Emirati man from underneath the rubble. The victim was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“The man was killed instantly after the ceiling fell right on him," the official said.

The Ras Al Khaimah Police is investigating the incident.
