Bani Yas scored their first victory in the President's Cup and defeated Emirates club 4-3 thanks mainly to an outstanding performance from their Sudanese striker James Joseph who scored a hat-trick levelling the score twice.
Emirates took the lead in the first minute when the Bani Yas' defender Abdullah Rashid failed to intercept a high ball that went to Hadif Saif whose shot took everyone by surprise especially the home team's custodian Shaiban Salih, whose first action in the match was bringing the ball from the bottom of his net.
Bani Yas pressed forward to equalise forcing their guests to retreat to their own half of the field.
James levelled the score with fierce header, 26 minutes into the match, following a cross from Adil Salim on the left flank.
But even before Bani Yas' supporters could finish their celebration, Emirates went again into the lead when Omar Najjari sent a tremendous shot from 30yards into the home team's net for his team's second goal.
James came again to the rescue of Bani Yas as he went past three defenders before sending a ground shot that rocked Emirate's goal, 38 minutes into the game.
Three minutes later, Mohammed Salih Habboush led a fast counter attack and Emirate's libero, Khalifa Ismail, fouled him only for the referee Ali Hamad to award the home team a penalty which Mohammed Mubarak converted correctly taking the lead for Bani Yas for first time in the match.
Both teams exchanged attacks after the breather and Emirates players were given a big boost as Bani Yas defender Abdullah Rashid was sent off 24 minutes after the interval after collecting two yellow cards for foul play.
But it was Bani Yas who went further ahead as Habbasuh passed to James who went past a defender before scoring his team's fourth goal 28 minutes into the second half.
Emirates captain Salim Rashid was sent clear in a fast rebounding attack and he scored the visitors' third goal 12 minutes before the end. It was Bani Yas's first victory in three matches. They increased their tally to four points while Emirates stayed with three points from two matches.
