Baby girl killed in four-car collision on Shaikh Zayed Road

Dubai/Sharjah: An Emirati baby girl died in a car collision between four cars near the 9th interchange on Shaikh Zayed Road on Friday evening.

The car in which the girl was travelling, overturned. There were eight family members in this car, police said.

The girl died before reaching the hospital. The injured were airlifted to hospital.

The family was headed towards Abu Dhabi.

Motorbike rider hit

In another incident, a newspaper delivery man on a motorbike sustained serious injuries when a car hit him on Shaikh Zayed at 3am on Friday. He was airlifted to hospital.

Woman dies in Sharjah fire

In Sharjah, a woman died after a fire broke out in an apartment in a residential building behind Al Safeer Mall at 4.30 pm. A 30 year-old man has been hospitalised for smoke inhalation.

Initial investigations showed that the fire was caused because of an electric short-circuit.

The 50 year-old woman died because of smoke inhalation.
