Mansell completed the 69-lap race in a winning time of one hour 38 minutes and 8.459 seconds

1992- Britain’s Nigel Mansell swept to a convincing lead over his Italian teammate Ricardo Partrese in a rain-interrupted French Grand Prix, increasing his lead in the Formula One Drivers World Championship. It was Mansell’s sixth win of the season after Monaco and the Canadian Grand Prix broke his early season run of five wins in a row. Mansell completed the 69-lap race, run in two parts after a 20-minute break enforced by the conditions, in a winning time of one hour 38 minutes and 8.459 seconds. Mansell also claimed the fastest lap as he finished 46.447 seconds ahead of his Williams teammate and nearest championship rival Italian Riccardo Patrese who had led in the early stages. Briton Martin Brundle finished third in a Benetton.
