James Murdoch steps down at News International

New York: News Corp. said Wednesday that James Murdoch has stepped down as executive chairman of News International, the Rupert Murdoch-owned company's troubled British publishing unit.

News Corp. said Tom Mockridge will remain as chief executive of News International and will report to News Corporation president and chief operating officer Chase Carey.
