Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT manufacturer, has launched the first complete range of eco-friendly PCs in the Middle East.

Esprimo, the new global Professional PC brand, produced in Germany, is the first-of-its-kind in the region and offers a complete ergonomic solution to increasing worldwide environmental legislation.

Esprimo professional PCs deliver the ultimate in cutting-edge technology combined with a modular and environmentally conscious design to professional users.

"The Esprimo professional PCs deliver the ultimate in cutting-edge technology combined with a modular and environmentally conscious design to professional users," said Habib Bouchrara, Vice-President, International Sales Region, Fujitsu Siemens Computers.

"The Esprimo range includes three models, which accommodate all desktop requirements. These 'green' PCs are designed to rigorously comply with new, stringent EU guidelines, which will be in force by mid-2006, restricting the use of hazardous substances," said Bouchrara.

The company has minimised the lead content in Esprimo mainboards from 12 grams to 1, and completely restricted the use of halogen. In addition, the printed circuit boards, as well as power supply and riser card, are halogen-free. Ergonomics have also been enhanced, with all Esprimo PCs being equipped with an advanced cooling concept, making them even quieter to provide an optimal working environment.

"The Esprimo professional PCs clearly demonstrate that added value can be provided with standard desktops," said Bouchrara.

The Esprimo model is available to order in the Middle East. The E series will follow shortly with its launch at the end of the month and the C series will complete the range in July.

With the introduction of the new Esprimo global Professional PC brand, Fujitsu Siemens Computers has streamlined its product range to provide increased flexibility when it comes to system configurations. All three Esprimo lines are modularly upgradeable.

Customers have the choice of standard PCs, special features such as security and extra performance, and configurations for long availability. And, every system can be upgraded flexibly for additional investment protection.

Esprimos' better cabinet design means enhanced serviceability and easier upgradeability, while the ManageIT and SecureIT software suites aid secure and trouble-free operation.

Lifecycles of up to 18 months are delivered by stable configurations, components and the Intel Stable Image Platform Programme.
