Dubai: Grade 4 student Shreya Kothari won four events in GEMS New Millenium School’s Annual Primary Swim Gala recently, taking gold in 25-metre freestyle and breaststroke, as well as 50-metre freestyle and backstroke.
Grade 5 pupil Shokan Bekbergen won three events, while Grade 2’s Maghavan Partha Ajgaokkar won two.
Forty students took part in the hope of qualifying for inter-school, regional and international championships.
Anirudh Krishnamoorthy, of Grade 6, is the school’s big success story, having won 45 medals at regional and international events, including 17 gold, 19 silver and nine bronze.
