Emirates beat Cluttons in Touch rugby final

Dubai: Emirates Airlines beat Cluttons 3-2 in the final of the seventh Zurich Corporate Touch 6s tournament at Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club on Friday after winning an unprecedented seven out of seven matches.

“It was always our goal to get our hands on some silverware at this year’s event,” said Emirates captain Kane Sandison, whose side were beaten in the mixed competition last year.

Elsewhere, Creative Zone won the mixed cup with a 3-2 win over Safa Community School, Saudi Scorpions thrashed Lamprell 4-1 in the mixed plate and AES beat BASF 3-0 in the mixed bowl.

Men’s player of the tournament was Charlie Sergeant of Cluttons, while Fiona Donald of Creative Zone took the award for mixed player of the tournament.
