Al Jazira lose Arab Club Championship opener

Must now overcome 2-1 deficit away to Al Nassr in Riyadh on September 29

Abu Dhabi: Al Jazira lost their Arab Club Championship opener 2-1 at home to Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia in Abu Dhabi on Monday. Al Jazira’s Khalfan Mubarak cancelled out Yahya Al Shehri’s fourth minute opener on 22 minutes before Nigerian former Leicester City striker Ahmad Moussa scored the winner on his debut on 75 minutes.

The return leg will be played in Riyadh on September 29. Al Ain are already out of the competition losing 2-2 on away goals to Algeria’s ES Setif last week. Al Wasl play Saudi’s Al Ittihad away on August 24 and at home on September 30.
