Taylor Phinney corners glory in Dubai Tour

US cyclist claims overall prize in fourth and final leg of inaugural Dubai Tour

Dubai: Taylor Phinney of the US led a 1-2 for BMC Racing Team when he emerged as the overall winner of the inaugural Dubai Tour 2014 on Saturday.  

Steven Cummings of BMC came in second.

Giant-Shimano’s German rider Marcel Kittel, however, underlined his class by claiming his third stage win of the tournament when he came in first in the fourth and final leg of the Tour, called the Old Dubai stage. 

Legendary footballer Diego Maradona, Dubai’s sports ambassador, gave away the prizes in the presence of Shaikh Majid Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture.
