Dubai Rugby Sevens dates announced

Dubai: The full calendar for the 2016/17 10-stage World Rugby Sevens Series was announced on Wednesday with Fiji starting their title defence in Dubai on December 2-3.

Cape Town will be held on December 10-11, followed by Wellington from January 28-29 and Sydney from February 4-5. Other rounds will be held in Las Vegas (March 3-5), Vancouver (March 11-12), Hong Kong (April 8-9), Singapore (April 15-16), Paris (May 13-14) and London (May 20-21).

The Fijians clinched their second consecutive series championship last weekend by advancing to the quarter-finals of the London Sevens, which featured Scotland’s first tournament title. Fiji will be favourites at the inaugural rugby sevens tournament at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in August.
