Dubai: Shaikh Hamad Bin Eisa Al Khalifa celebrated two podium finishes last weekend when he secured second and third place in the Bahrain-based Chevrolet Supercars Middle East Championship, jumping two places from sixth to fourth overall.
Shaikh Hamad said: "The start of the weekend was not bad. I started third in both races. The first race did not begin well for me; I lost two positions by turn one but caught up and passed both drivers to finish third.
"The second race was very good; I started third again but successfully passed the racer ahead of me, keeping a good pace until the finish line."
Towards the weekend finale, he won the battle against Fahd Al Musalam and gave Tariq Al Gamal a run for his money all the way to the chequered flag, clocking in 25 minutes and 57.628 seconds to nail his second-place finish.
His Chevrolet Supercar looks to be in good form and will be back on the race track in Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi for round five, on February 19-20.
