Fourteen-year-old Abdullah is the 2010/2011 DAMC Junior Max Champion, after a season-long battle with Piers Pakenham-Walsh
Dubai: Omani brothers Abdullah and Sanad Al Rawahi have been making names for themselves in the Dubai Autodrome Motorsport Club (DAMC) Karting Championship.
Fourteen-year-old Abdullah is the 2010/2011 DAMC Junior Max Champion, after a season-long battle with Piers Pakenham-Walsh.
There was little to separate the two, who dominated the class from race one.
Abdullah said: "I am very happy to win the championship title this year. I really worked hard all season and stayed focused all the way until the end."
Award
Brother Sanad, 16, did not win the 2010/2011 DAMC Senior Max title he was a deserved winner of the young driver of the year award.
His battles with eventual champion Maurits Knopjes were memorable and Sanad acknowledged the quality of the Dubai-based Dutchman.
Sanad ended his season by winning the heat, pre-final and final at the last event.
Both drivers will next enter the Under-18 World Championship, while Abdullah has qualified for the Rotax Max Grand Finals this November in Al Ain.
