Jebel Ali Stakes: Saint's a lively ride
Twelve have been declared for tomorrow's 16th edition of the Listed Jebel Ali Stakes, over 1,950m, including last year's winner Anani and runner-up Remaadd, as well as 2006 victor Singing Poet who missed the race last year.
Erwan Charpy trains Singing Poet who did manage a second course and distance victory during an abbreviated campaign last season, when chased home by stable companion Miser Fasliyev who is again in opposition and has to be feared after a great comeback run at Nad Al Sheba. Charpy also saddles Rampallion who won on the first night of the 2008 Carnival.
Doug Watson's Dynamic Saint is a course winner, while stable companion Trust N Dustan was just behind Mister Fasliyev last time and, as the only three-year-old in the race, receives weight from his rivals.
However, Dynamic Saint is a quality performer and has to go close on his seasonal bow.
Several Carnival prospects also take their chance in the following seven-furlong conditions race and Ali Rashid Al Raihe's Jet Express should go close. With recent winners Mandobi and Aqmaar in opposition though, as well as four Mike De Kock runners, it will be no easy task.
