Leaderboard bunched in first event of 20-stage season
Mohammedia: Four golfers share the lead at seven under par after Thursday’s second round of the Mena Golf Tour season-opening Royal Golf Mohammedia Open in Morocco.
South Africa’s Tyler Hogarty is seeking his first win on tour with record nine-time Mena event winner and one-time Order of Merit winner Zane Scotland alongside round one leader Andrew Marshall and Jamie Elson.
Morocco’s Younus Al Hassani and Scotland’s Chris Robb are a further two strokes behind, while England’s Lee Corfield, a four-time winner on tour, is in the group a further shot adrift at four under par.
The UAE-based Mena Golf Tour was created in 2011 with the aim of providing local golfers with a platform to professionalism.
The new look 2016 season has 20 events — up from 11 last year — including last month’s Q-School, and will go Morocco, Spain, Thailand, South Africa, Kuwait, Oman and Egypt, as well as the UAE.
