Excellent forum for consolidating partnerships

Dubai: Having been the main sponsor of the event for the first three years since its inception, Dubai Aluminium Company Limited (Dubal) is again sponsoring the 2009 Dubai Ladies Masters golf tournament, albeit as a sponsor of the recently renamed Omega Dubai Ladies Masters event.

The four-day tournament got underway at the Emirates Golf Club on Thursday.

"Dubal has sponsored the Dubai Desert Classic and the Dubai Ladies Masters since 1992 and 2006 respectively," says Khalid Bu Humaid, Vice President, Corporate Relations and International Affairs and official spokesperson of Dubal.

"Our involvement in these prestigious tournaments over the past 18 years has taken them from relatively unknown to world class sporting events, which attract the world's top golfers. This has raised international awareness of and interest in our country and our company."

Bu Humaid adds that the tournaments provide an excellent forum for consolidating the partnerships nurtured with Dubal's customers.

"For example, we have invited our local suppliers, bankers and other local business associates to our hospitality chalet during the 2009 Dubai Ladies Masters," he says.

"Both events also facilitate building long-term, loyal relationships. I am proud to say that we have dealt with certain of our customers since Dubal's inception."

Currently ranked as the world's largest modern smelter with a captive power station, Dubal is widely acknowledged as the industrial flagship of the UAE. The company actively supports community-based initiatives and the broader goals of the Dubai Government by giving generously of the company's time, financial resources and expertise to a broad range of events and activities, especially in the education and welfare arenas.
