UAE team to assemble on Wednesday

Dubai: The UAE Olympic football team will assemble on Wednesday in preparation for their warm-up match against Iraq in Sharjah on Friday, before hosting Yemen in the Olympic qualifiers on April 18.

The UAE scored an important win in their last match in Group F qualifiers, beating Yemen 2-1 in Sanaa. The win helped revive their hopes of reaching the second round of the qualifiers en route to the 2008 Beijing Games.

The UAE will host Uzbekistan on May 16 before meeting South Korea in Seoul on June 6.
