Austrian police arrest man who hoarded a million child porn pictures, videos

Vienna: Austrian authorities say they have arrested a man who hoarded more than a million child pornography pictures and videos.

The Federal Criminal Investigations Bureau says the 53-year-old, who has not been named, stored the material on eight hard drives, a personal computer, a laptop and DVDs.

A statement issued by the bureau Friday says the material - seized during a search of the man's home - shows children under the age of 14, including babies, engaged in various sexual acts. The statement says some of the scenes are violent.

Spokesman Alexander Marakovits said the man was arrested in April but was not made public until now because it took time to carry out an investigation and evaluate the seized data.
