Dubai: The UAE Football League's top goal scorer Mohammad Omar has accused some of his teammates of not being worthy of wearing the Al Nasr shirt.

Omar launched his attack after Al Nasr's humiliating 5-2 loss to bottom club Al Khaleej on Sunday at Khor Fakkan.

He said: "It happened before in many matches, we score goals, but our weak defence conceded as many. This is something unacceptable.

"I can say frankly some of the players are not worthy of wearing or defending the Al Nasr colours and they have to go and leave their place for those who can spare no effort in defending the club colours."

Mohammad Omar, who was transferred from Al Dhafra to Al Nasr at the beginning of the season, scored both of Al Nasr's goals to top the league's goalscoring chart with eight.

It was the heaviest defeat for Al Nasr in the league so far and the first win of the season for bottom of the table Al Khaleej who have suffered five defeats.

Al Nasr were missing six key players - Mohammad Ebrahim, Redha Enayati, goalkeeper Abdullah Mousa, Mohammad Khamis, Mahmoud Hasan, Walid Salim - due to injuries and suspensions.

However the absentees were not the only reason behind the heavy defeat.

The tactics of coach Luka Bonacic did not work although the team had achieved good results in recent weeks.

The Al Nasr supporters are not satisfied with the coach's selection of foreign players.

Iranian defender Mohammad Nasrati has been a big failure and he could not help the team stop conceding goals despite being an Iranian national team player.

Al Nasr have conceded 17 goals in seven matches giving them one of the weakest defence in the professional league and that was what made striker Mohammad Omar angry.

Also the club supporters were calling for striker Redha Enayati to be dropped as he was failing to score goals before getting injured.

The team need a forward who can help Mohammad Omar to replace Enayati when the transfer window opens in January.

Second upset

The week's second upset came in Ajman when defending champions Al Shabab lost to the home team with the only goal coming in injury time.

Ajman produced an excellent performance and are now sixth in the league with 10 points.

The defeat was a continuation of Al Shabab's poor form this season.

They are now eighth with seven points from seven games and it seems unlikely they will be able to defend their title.

We score goals, but our weak defence conceded as many. This is something unacceptable. I can say frankly some of the players are not worthy of wearing or defending the Al Nasr colours and they have to go and leave their place for those who can spare no effort in defending the club colours."
