Sharjah: Sharjah Dubai Modern High School will take on Delhi Private School (DPS) in the final of the girls Under-17 Max Talent Acer Cup at the Sharjah Wanderers Club.
Last year's runners-up team, Dubai Modern, booked their place in the final beating Gulf Indian High School from Dubai. Meanwhile, defending champion DPS Dubai team got better of Indian High School from Dubai.
Gulf Indian High School scored 77 for 2 in 12 overs. In reply, the Dubai Modern team captain Rashi Dalmiya (24) and Sana (27) put on 63 runs for the opening partnership, and won with 24 balls to spare.
The second semi-final turned out to be a one-sided affair with defending champion DPS Jebel Ali posting 98 runs for 1 in 12 overs.
Winning the toss captain Banpreet elected to field. Captain Malitha and Namrata gave them just the take off partnership of 48 runs Indian High School girls were left clueless in the batting department too as they could muster only 37 for 6. Wicketkeeper-batsman Khyati (13) had no support as she waged lone survival battle for her team.
In form
DPS bowlers, particularly Namrata after finishing her batting job, was in form in the bowling department too, she tormented the Indian High School Dubai girls and took two wickets by just giving fours runs. Aurshi chipped in with 2 for 9.
