Dubai: It’s impossible to miss Virat Kohli when he steps onto the field. With his infectious energy and passion, the former Indian captain has long been a fan favorite. But recently, another cricketing legend, MS Dhoni, offered a more personal and heartwarming perspective on Kohli, praising his off-field charisma.

Calling Kohli the “ultimate entertainment package,” Dhoni highlighted his teammate’s many talents beyond cricket. “He’s a good singer, a great dancer, and does amazing mimicry too,” said the two-time World Cup-winning captain. “When he’s in the mood, he’s very, very entertaining!”

The bond between Kohli and Dhoni runs deep, forged over years of playing together. Dhoni handed Kohli his international debut in 2008, and since then, their relationship has grown stronger, rooted in mutual respect and genuine camaraderie.

Currently, Kohli is enjoying a break in the UK with his family after retiring from T20Is and Test cricket. Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in 2020, continues to light up the Indian Premier League (IPL). Ahead of IPL 2024, he passed the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, he made a dramatic return in IPL 2025 when Gaikwad was sidelined with a hand injury, proving that his connection to the game is far from over.

Dhoni was asked about his future with CSK — especially in light of his age. The five-time IPL-winning captain made it clear he’s not going anywhere. “Me and CSK, we’re together. Even for the next 15–20 years,” Dhoni joked, drawing massive applause. “I hope they don’t think I’ll be playing for another 15–20 years! But yes, whether I’m playing or not, I’ll always be in a yellow jersey.”
