Dubai: Actress Tamannaah Bhatia, one of the most recognisable faces in Indian cinema today, has finally broken her silence on some of the persistent rumours about her personal life — including her alleged relationships with Indian cricket star Virat Kohli and former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq.

In a candid interview with The Lallantop, Tamannaah set the record straight, calling out the absurdity of the speculation.

On the long-standing rumour that she once dated Kohli, Tamannaah said: “I feel so bad because I literally met him for only one day. I have never met Virat after the shoot. Na maine unse baat ki, na unse mili hoon (I have neither spoken to him nor met him).”

For context, the dating buzz started after the two appeared in a TV commercial together in the early 2010s. A photo from the shoot went viral, sparking relentless speculation. But Tamannaah made it clear — that was the first and last time she saw Kohli.

'Can't control other's thoughts'

The actress also addressed another internet-fuelled rumour linking her to Abdul Razzaq. A photograph of the two attending a jewellery store launch years ago triggered bizarre claims — including one that they were secretly married. Laughing off the rumours, Tamannaah said, “Mazaak mazaak mein Abdul Razzaq (funny fun from Abdul Razzaq)! The internet is a fun place.”

She went on to joke, “According to the internet, I was briefly married to Abdul Razzaq. I’m sorry sir… aapke do-teen bachche hain (you have two or three kids). I don’t know anything about your life. It was so embarrassing.”

While Tamannaah took the rumours in her stride, she acknowledged how awkward and intrusive these situations can be. “It’s very awkward when the media links you to someone you have absolutely no connection with… But there is nothing you can do. Over time, you learn to accept it. You can’t control everyone’s thoughts.”

A glimpse into Tamannaah’s love life

While the Kohli and Razzaq rumours were pure fiction, Tamannaah’s only confirmed relationship in recent times was with actor Vijay Varma. The two reportedly grew close during the filming of Netflix’s Lust Stories 2 and were spotted together at a New Year’s Eve party in 2023, fuelling speculation. However, reports suggest the couple broke up earlier this year. Neither has publicly commented on the break-up.

Tamannaah Bhatia continues to be a pan-India sensation, with notable performances in films like Baahubali, Jailer, and Aranmanai 4. Despite her fame, she has often found her personal life making headlines as much as her professional achievements. But as she clarified in her latest interview, not everything you read — or see on the internet — is rooted in truth.
